TEAM Springer Huseby Melanie Duerkopp We strategically chose Apple as a key partner due to their commitment to enhancing the ‘book experience’ with interactive media, full custom layout capabilities, and a seamless eCommerce experience for our future readers. I was responsible for researching book distribution partners and competitors, developing the storyboard and evolved book concept, UX design, digital layout design, illustration, partial food photography, partial recipe development, videography, and a small portion of the written content. The book was published in Spring 2013 and was recognized by the UK and US Apple team by the Summer of 2013. We were blessed to have been featured by Apple since then in various featured spotlights. Client Background: Eat Life Whole is a website dedicated to creating simple and visually “yummy” blog posts and eBooks for busy (and hungry) people who want to make healthy food choices.

As a co-founder and creative director for Eat Life Whole, Inc. my role in this project was inclusive of business/product strategy, design/execution, and marketing/promotion. After experimenting with .pdf eBook distribution from the Eat Life Whole website, we decided to test a new digital book distribution channel through the Apple iBookstore.
